FIELD: mechanical engineering; swirl chamber compression ignition engines. SUBSTANCE: swirl chamber diesel engine has piston with combustion chamber, cylinder, cylinder head with intake and exhaust channels and valves, valve guides and sleeves, swirl combustion chamber in cylinder head, connecting channel between spaces of swirl combustion chamber and above-piston space in cylinder. Diffuser with gas supply tube and spring-loaded check valve in installed in air channel at side of its opening into space of swirl combustion chamber. Air connects spaces of intake channel and swirl combustion chamber, axis of symmetry of air channel intersecting axis of symmetry of intake valve. Intake valve has guide with ring groove. With intake valve closed, ring groove is located higher than through cross port made in intake valve sleeve. EFFECT: possibility of conversion of swirl chamber diesel engine for operation on all gaseous fuels, enhanced performance characteristics of diesel engine and its ecological characteristics. 2 cl, 1 dwg
