SUBCLAVIAN CATHETER Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: medical equipment. SUBSTANCE: catheter has pipe connected to head and stopper mounted on head and provided with wire. Head is made in the form of flare with inner surface formed as Luer cone and cylindrical opening, and outer surface made in the form of stepped cone with rib positioned at stepped cone base. Pipe is fixed in cylindrical opening of flare, and two eyelets are positioned at both sides on outer surface of one step, in symmetry with respect to longitudinal axis. Stopper made in the form of cylindrical plug is positioned at flare end opposite to end on which pipe is fixed. Catheter of such construction may be used for injection of medical drugs or liquids into hollow organs and body cavities, in particular, in pediatrics, pediatric and general surgery for prolonged intravenous infusions of blood, blood substitutes and infusion solutions introduced into central veins. Catheter is reliably fastened to patient's body to provide for sterility of inner surface of catheter during the whole period of infusion.
