FIELD: manufacture of carrier body of catalytic converter of waste gas neutralizing units. SUBSTANCE: foil consists of two different layers: steel layer and aluminum layer applied by roll cladding. Foil is provided with structure obtained through pressure shaping followed by stacking or rolling, thus forming cellular member. Prior to pressure shaping, foil is subjected to heat treatment due to arising Joulean heat. Heat treatment is performed in atmosphere of preset composition where inert gas with some amount of oxygen is used. Heating is effected by means of induction coils or electric voltage source. EFFECT: enhanced deformability of foil subjected to roll cladding in cold state; possibility of obtaining oxide layer on foil; reduced power requirements. 16 cl, 2 dwg
