FIELD: manufacture of sheets used in catalytic converters, heat exchangers and so on. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes attachment for forming microstructures and pairs of mutually engaged rolls for rolling corrugated sheet. Pairs of rolls are arranged behind said attachment. On outer surfaces of rolls there are sufficiently large recesses for microstructures preventing the last from deformation by rolls at corrugating metallic sheet. Method comprises steps of corrugating sheet by means of first pair of rolls; orienting roll recesses in accordance with microstructure position in such a way that to prevent smoothing of microstructures of corrugated sheet.
