FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to exhaust gas systems of internal combustion engine and is designed for conversion of exhaust gases. Proposed invention is good for installation in vehicle exhaust gas systems close to engine and for thermally insulating cellular members relative to housing. Proposed cellular construction consisting of thin- walled ceramic elements contains housing accommodating cellular element enclosed by lining. Lining consists of several layers formed at least by one sheet of metal foil and at least by two layers of ceramic material. Lining is preferably made of heat insulating layer, sheet of metal foil and swelling mat, with ends of foil sheet covering at least one of indicated layers at ends. It is expedient to use prefabricated multilayers structure as lining when making cellular construction. EFFECT: reduced transfer of heat by radiation from cellular element to housing. 16 cl, 5 dwg
