FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method may be used for grinding of materials difficult to work on surface grinding machines, numeric-control machines, and flexible production modules for finishing operations. Use is made of one grinding wheel with one beveled end made at an angle α to other end. Wheel is installed on shaft. Other grinding wheel of similar construction is positioned on hollow shaft so that beveled ends are placed in parallel and arranged at an angle of α to plane perpendicular to axis of rotation. Rotation in opposite directions at similar frequency and feed motion are rendered to two wheels. Workpiece is driven to reciprocation relative to wheels. Due to the above-indicated construction, cutting zone of wheels oscillates along axis of their rotation, as a result of which, burnless grinding is guaranteed and machined surface quality is improved. Wheels with beveled end allow abrasive material economy. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 dwg, 1 ex
