FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying magnetic stimulation of motor cerebral cortex and cervical segment of the spinal cord at the level of the great foramen. Latent periods of motor responses of orbicular eye muscle are recorded and analyzed. Injuries of facial nerve, corticonuclear paths of the facial nerve and afferent paths of brain trunk are diagnosed depending on values of orbicular eye muscle motor responses latent periods under magnetic stimulation of motor cerebral cortex and the spinal cord. EFFECT: quantitative differential evaluation method; high accuracy in localizing nervous system injuries. 5 dwg, 1 tbl
