FIELD: sugar production. SUBSTANCE: continuous crystal formation is accomplished by circulating, in crystal generator, hot supersaturated syrup through sugar crystal coarse fraction bed covered by a thin polyamide film to induce formation of crystallizing nuclei in seed suspension. Sugar crystals are placed in gauze cylinder inside crystal generator and set into vibrational motion in vertical direction with intensity 30-45 sq.cm/cu.s to provide porosity of crystal bed 0.6 to 0.8. Circulation of syrup on the inlet side of crystal generator is carried out concurrently under complete displacement conditions. Resulting seed suspension is cooled by 2-3 C to fix crystallizing nuclei. Suspension is used for subsequent growth of crystals in continuous vacuum apparatuses. EFFECT: reduced latent period, increased number of crystallizing nuclei, and improved uniformity of granulometric composition of seed suspension. 3 ex
