FIELD: mechanical engineering; oil producing and chemical industries; cleaning of gas effluents of industrial plants. SUBSTANCE: proposed catalyst converter has housing with at least one gas inlet branch pipe and at least one gas outlet branch pipe and at least one block placed inside housing across direction of gas flow and provided with great number of through channels, part of which is coated with catalyst. Metal perforated screen is placed in housing between gas inlet branch pipe and first block in direction of gas flow across direction of gas flow. Screen secured to housing can be made convex to one side relative to direction of gas flow forming heat-resistant net of two layers. Such fitting of screen and its design provided settling of hard particles and drops contained in exhaust gases with subsequent after-burning and evaporation before cleaning which prevents propagation of burning to block zone and provides removal of heat and its conveying to housing. EFFECT: improved reliability and increased service life of catalyst converter. 2 cl, 3 dwg
