FIELD: agriculture, plant growing. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes to use phthalocyanine complexes of the general formula (I) where M is Co or AlOH; X is (SO3H) or (SO3Na)2-4. Treatment of planting material with these complexes results to induction of the resistance of plants to phytophthora infection. The effect is comparable with that of the known preparations but distincts from the latter by effect that is retained for all vegetation period up to harvest. Effective doses of the proposed agent are lower by one order at least as compared with the known preparations. Price of the use of proposed metal complexes (preparation plus its addition) is lower also as compared with the known preparation.
