FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particularly, methods of lining of oxygen steel-making converter. SUBSTANCE: lining is performed with differential laying of refractories in thickness and properties of working layer adjacent to steel taphole and cylindrical part by sectors on side of both trunnions over 1/8 length of circumference from axis of each trunnion. Cylindrical part on side of trunnions is laid by steps with alternation of rings with height of 15-17% and with thickness equalling 90-95% of initial maximum thickness of laying in trunnion zone, respectively. Protruding rings are lined with refractories whose slag resistance is higher by 8-12% than that of refractories of nonprotruding rings. Working layer adjacent to steel taphole over 1/2 length of circumference from tap hole axis is laid to converter mouth with height equalling 2/3 and to bottom 3-4 diameters of channel of steel taphole with refractories whose resistance to slag corrosion and mechanical corrosion caused by metal with high temperature. Sector on side of charging of iron charge is lined with refractories resistant to impact loads, and sector on side of metal pouring is lined with refractories whose resistance to slag corrosion and mechanical corrosion caused by metal with high temperature is 8-12% lower than above specified resistance of refractories of working layer adjacent to steel taphole.
