FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: brickwork of converter lining joint consists of adjacent lining of the converter lower part and bottom lining of bottom adjoining thereto, a refractory ramming mass formed by refractory products with alternating shift of rows along the front by 0.02-0.19 value of said brick length with filling of gaps with refractory ramming mass. The moulded refractory products are made in the form of parallelepiped, which alternately provide tight junction of the wall and bottom lining, and preliminarily applied between the rows a mortar or refractory adhesive composition.

EFFECT: elimination of metal penetration during steel smelting process in refractory brickwork joint of converter walls and bottom due to optimisation of parameters of alternating brick rows.
