FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ferrous metallurgy, in particular to the lining of an oxygen converter. Refractory products are differentially laid out according to the thickness and properties of the working layer located in the lower reaction zone of the converter and adjacent to the bottom of the converter and the lower cone of the converter, while the working layer of the upper part of the lower reaction zone is laid out with refractory products so that the height of the lining of the lower reaction zone is from 0.05 to 0.8 of the entire height of the oxygen converter lining. The transition zone between the converter lining sectors is made by protrusions, which are formed due to the use of refractory products of different lengths, and the difference in the length of refractory products adjacent to each other in one row of the oxygen converter lining does not exceed 0.01-0.5 of the length of the smallest refractory product.
EFFECT: invention improves the durability of the lining and the productivity of the oxygen converter.
