FIELD: laser engineering. SUBSTANCE: high-frequency pumped gas laser incorporating extended metal electrodes forming slot-type discharge gap has groove-shaped depressions on electrode surfaces on discharge side which are orthogonal to optical axis of laser. Electrodes of such configurations function as combination of waveguide wherein radiation propagates along laser axis and free space for light propagation perpendicular to electrode surface. Grooves constitute set of spatial filters for selecting low- order generation mode. Surfaces of all laser components with the exception of resonator mirrors and output window are covered with pure aluminum coat. EFFECT: improved mode structure of laser beam and extended service life of laser. 4 cl, 6 dwg, 1 tbl
