METHOD OF MANUFACTURE OF BUILDING ARTICLES Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of building materials; manufacture of brick and building blocks on base of impure sodium disilicate. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes joint grinding of impure sodium disilicate with part of sand followed by mixing this mass with remaining sand, adding water, molding articles under pressure, steaming and drying. Composition of mixture is as follows, mas-%: impure sodium disilicate, 6 to 8; sand 92 to 94; subjected to joint grinding with impure sodium disilicate is sand in the amount of 60 to 70%; molding is effected under pressure of 0.5 to 1 MPa at simultaneous action of mechanical vibrations at frequency of 30 to 100 Hz till molding mixture reaches density of 1900 to 2000 kg/cu.m; steaming is effected for 24 hours at temperature of 50 to 80 C followed by drying at temperature of 130 to 150 C continued for 24 hours; then, they are subjected to roasting under conditions of stepped heat treatment: first at rate of 25 C/h to temperature of 700 to 900 C and then at rate of 100 C/h to temperature of 100 to 1200 C followed by keeping the articles at this temperature for 30 minutes and smooth cooling during 24 hours.
