Compounds show antibacterial activity, in part, antifungal activity and activity inhibiting effect of β-1,3-glucane synthase. Compounds can be used for prophylaxis and/or therapeutic treatment of patients with infectious diseases including infection caused by Pneumocystis carinii, for example, pneumonia caused by Pneumocystis carinii in humans or animals.
