FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely production of iron ore pellets.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding humidified charge into lumping apparatus by two streams; introducing first stream of charge to compressed-gas flow for forming gas-humidified charge stream; spraying charge onto belt for producing sprayed layer; forming nucleuses from sprayed layer. Charge is sprayed onto endless, elastic or cloth belt moving at rate 0.05 -1.5 m/s and wound onto rotating drums through plate-type splitters fixed to surface of belt. Nucleuses are formed due to cutting sprayed layer by means of plate-type splitters, bending belt, changing its motion direction and cleaning surface of belt by removing sprayed layer. Then nucleuses are after-lumped by means of second stream of charge for making pellets.
EFFECT: improved strength of pellets, increased yield of standard pellets.
