FIELD: plants for withdrawal of SO2 from flue gases and production of ammonium sulfate solution which may be reworked into valuable agents. SUBSTANCE: proposed plant includes gas cleaner 1 which is provided with at least one flushing zone 2 and gas-permeable bottom 8 for receiving liquid, unit 4 for supply of ammonia liquor to flushing zone 2, unit 5, absorbing liquid circulating line 9, passage 6 for delivery of flue gas to gas cleaner 1 which enters gas cleaner 1 above settler 11 of gas cleaner, spraying unit 7 located in passage 6 and used for supply of cooling liquid cooling the flue gas flow saturating it with steam, unit 12 for reverse supply of liquid from settler 11 of gas cleaner to spraying unit 7 mounted in flue gas passage 6. Provision is made for supply of ammonium sulfate from oxidizing unit 5 to settler 11 of gas cleaner via feed pipe line 13. Sludge discharge pipe line 12 connected to settler 11 of gas cleaner may be used for discharge of ammonium sulfate solution; this solution has increased concentration and may be used for manufacture of fertilizers. Besides that, ammonium sulfate solution discharge pipe line is connected to oxidizing unit 5; this unit is mainly used for discharge of pure ammonium sulfate which is suitable for manufacture of pure ammonium sulfate.
