FIELD: powder metallurgy, more particularly preparation of ceramic materials based on stabilized zirconium dioxide. SUBSTANCE: method comprises using baddellite concentrate and brucite as stabilizing additive, ratio of of components in mixture being as follows, wt.%: baddellite concentrate, 50-95; and brucite, 5-50. Original compounds of mineral stock include baddellite concentrate and brucite the main component of which is magnesium hydroxide, thus affording substantial reduction of process expenses. Presence of calcium oxide in brucite and in baddellite concentrate in insignificant amounts eliminates formation of intermediate phase CaZrO3 which loosens material, thus decreasing strength characteristics of ceramic material.
