FIELD: hydromechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: converter has case partially filled with liquid and pneumatic system. Displacement system of open vessels made in the form of spherical-bottom open cylinders is immersed in this liquid. Displacement system has at least two shafts mounted at different heights and provided with transfer members carrying seamless band with supporting member placed between its opposite sections. Supporting member may be made in the form of, say, parallelepiped or set of gears, and tubular supporting members attached to case. Pneumatic system has at least one metering device for supplying compressed gas to open cylinder with valve of open/close type, device sensing open cylinder location above metering device made , for example, in the form of mechanical interrupter, and automatic-control unit connected to sensor and valve. Shaft is connected through step-up gear to power generator. EFFECT: improved operating reliability and efficiency of converter. 11 cl, 2 dwg
