FIELD: production of fluorine-containing monomers. SUBSTANCE: cylindrical reactor has housing 1, thermal casing 2, circulation pipe 8 with openings 9 positioned in lower part at the level of nozzle 7 of sprayer 6. Electric spiral 10 positioned in lower part of circulation pipe 8 in the vicinity of nozzle 7 is adapted for igniting tetrafluoroethylene. Method involves purging reactor with oxygen supplied via branch pipe 4 into lower part of reactor; purging tetrafluoroethylene supply pipe 3 with nitrogen; initiating heating of electric spiral 10; supplying tetrafluoroethylene at linear flow speed of 1.77-20 m/s upon heating of electric spiral to temperature of 180-200 C; interrupting the process of heating of electric spiral, when temperature reaches the value of 400 C due to reaction of oxidation of tetrafluoroethylene; feeding cooling air through jacket 11; providing circulation of reaction gases delivered from circulation pipe 8 inside housing 1 where these gases are partially cooled and sucked through injection openings 9; withdrawing excessive reaction gas through branch pipe 5 as ready product. Method and reactor allow full conversion of tetrafluoroethylene to be effected. Carbonyl fluoride yield is 98.7-99.2%.
