FIELD: halogenated hydrocarbons, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of synthesis of octafluoropropane used as gaseous dielectric, cooling agent, component of foam-forming composition and in laser working media. Octafluoropropane is synthesized by mixing gaseous reagents and products of fluorination. Firstly, a mixture of fluorine with octafluoropropane is prepared in the mole ratio = (0.25-1) : 1 and mixing with other components is carried out using jet kinetic energy of this mixture elapsing from atomizer. Products of octafluoropropane fluorination are circulated in reactor including vertical cylindric carcass, cover, bottom, nozzles for raw feeding and removal of reaction products, internal circulating tube opened from upper and protected by heat screen externally with diffuser in the form of reversed truncated cone connected with tube from the bottom and opened from the bottom and fixed coaxially on bottom by heat-removing ribs. Nozzle with atomizer for raw feeding are placed by the bottom center. Ratio of square of circulating tube free section and ring space between carcass and heat screen = 0.9-1.4.
