FIELD: railway transport; measurement facilities. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for use on railway transport at shunting of cars on gravity hump. Meter of coefficient of friction between car wheel and retarder has post installed at beginning of movable part of gravity hump. Post is installed on railway bed from outer side of rail between ties. Post has hole to pass shaft. Double-wing rocket is secured on shaft horizontally for engagement with wheel. At opposite side, shaft is connected with multiplier and angular displacement converter pickup detecting angular displacement of multiplier when rocket returns in initial position. Pressure transmitter is located between post and V-shaped spring which detects pressure of rocker on wheel rim. EFFECT: possibility of measuring coefficient of friction between each wheel of car and car retarder with subsequent introduction of correction to value of braking force when descending the car from gravity hump. 5 dwg
