FIELD: nondestructive testing of materials. SUBSTANCE: ultrasonic flaw detector can be utilized for inspection of basic metal and welds. Possibility of stopping of image, formation of logarithmic amplification law, reduction of mass and dimensions of detector are achieved thanks to incorporation in ultrasonic flaw detector of radiating piezoconverter connected to high- frequency pulse generator, receiver including attenuator and amplifier connected in series and linked to radiating or receiving piezoconverter with use of switch, program control unit, on-line storage, keyboard, indicator, counting pulse generator and code former connected in series and linked to program control unit to which attenuator, on- line storage and keyboard are connected. Network composed of analog-to-digital converter, controller of direct access to storage and interruption controller connected in series is coupled to output of receiver. Controller of direct access to storage is connected to high-frequency pulse generator, counting pulse generator and on-line storage, interruption controller is connected to program control unit and the latter is coupled to indicator. EFFECT: possibility of stopping of image, of formation of logarithmic amplification law and reduced mass and dimensions of ultrasonic flaw detector. 1 dwg
