FIELD: natural organic compounds. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel alkaloids of the formula (I) 
occurring in different parts of plant Mappia foetida and their pharmaceutical use as novel syntones for synthesis of compounds with antitumor and antiviral activity. The same compounds are novel syntones for synthesis of new analogues of camptothecin and foetidins. Invention describes also method of synthesis of compounds of the formula (I). These new compounds show high water solubility that ensures their administration by parenteral route without conversion to derivatives.
