FIELD: mechanical engineering; servicing of engines. SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at providing method of effective separation of deposits without destruction of friction layers of worked0in heavily-loaded friction pairs. According to proposed method, cleansing addition is introduced into waste motor oil before replacement in amount of 5-15% of oil amount, engine is started, operated at no-load for 10 min maximum after which it is shut down and oil is drained. Cleansing addition used in engine consists of mixture of hydrocarbons containing 60-80 % mass of aromatic hydrocarbons, 10 - 20 % mass of cycloalkanes and 10 - 20 % mass of alkanes. Addition has the following characteristics: initial boiling point 60 - 80 C; distillation temperature of 10% of liquid, 80 - 90 C; distillation temperature of 40% of liquid, 110 - 130 C; distillation temperature of 70% of liquid, 160 - 210 C; distillation temperature of 90% of liquid, 190 - 250 C; full boiling point, 210 - 260 C. EFFECT: provision of effective cleaning of system from deposits.
