FIELD: nonlinear optics. SUBSTANCE: crystals are prepared by crystallization of composition with congruent melting of general formula: M4LnO(BO3)3 wherein M is calcium or calcium partially substituted by strontium or barium, Ln is one or lanthanides from group consisting of Y, Gd, La, Lu. Crystals are used as frequency doublers and mixers, as parametric optical generator, or when they are activated by means of Nd3+, as frequency laser doubler.
