FIELD: optical structures in strontium crystals.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of formation and application of nonlinear optical twin antipolar structures in strontium thetaborate and lead tetraborate (SBO/PBO) crystals for efficient quasi-phase-matched conversion of laser radiation. To prevent spontaneous twinning of each negative domain with a thickness of more than 7 mcm, a seed is used, the configuration of which provides additional growth inside it of at least one coplanar zone with a positive polarity and a thickness of 0.1-2 mcm.

EFFECT: stabilization of the growth of an ordered twin structure SBO/PBO with antipolar domains with a thickness of 7-50 microns, and in the plane-parallel direction up to and more than 50 mm, prevention of spontaneous twinning of negative domains, obtaining a high-quality defect-free nonlinear optical converter and an effective laser system using it.
