FIELD: production of annular members. SUBSTANCE: method involves winding tape of fibrous material onto elliptical mandrel in layers for manufacture of preform in the form of elliptical bushing adapted for producing annular members; cutting tape in planes nonperpendicular to bushing axis. Another version of method involves manufacturing preform in the form of elliptical bushing in accordance with above mentioned method; cutting bushing into rings in planes nonperpendicular to bushing axis. Third method for manufacture of brake disk involves manufacturing annular member in accordance with second of mentioned methods, with following processing of internal and/or external periphery of annular member. Apparatus has mandrel of elliptical section and equipment for winding tape of fibrous material onto mandrel in layers, one layer onto the other layer. EFFECT: increased efficiency in manufacture of preform of increased interlaminar strength, reduced material loss in the process of manufacture of articles from preforms. 30 cl, 21 dwg
