FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: hybrid fiber is manufactured from cut parallel and untwisted threads, which are hold together by binding thread of easily removable material. Threads are a mixture of threads of at least two different-nature types, which can be carbon threads or threads from carbon precursor based on oxidized polyacrylonitrile, anisotropic or isotropic resin, phenolic or cellulose material. Threads can also be made from ceramics or ceramics precursor. At last 15 wt % of carbon thread mixture are high-strength threads with tensile strength at least 1500 MPa and modulus at least 150 GPa. At last 15 wt % of threads in this mixture are threads with elastic modulus not exceeding 100 GPa.
