CABLE TRACTION UNIT Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural and forest engineering. SUBSTANCE: unit has motor drive and reducer with output shaft carrying drums with outer and inner rims. Peripheral part of inner rims is provided with teeth. Pulling cable is fastened on drums so that it embraces block mounted on anchor. Working tool and control handles are attached to reducer body, and supporting skid is attached to lower surface of reducer. During operation of unit, motor drive transmits rotation through reducer to shaft and drums, onto which pulling cable connected with anchor is wound. Unit penetrates into ground with its rims and plow and advances along strip. Inner rims cut slits in ground with their teeth, and plow separates layer undercut at sides from massif with force lower than that used for noncut layer. Unit is used for laying supporting strips for fighting with forest fires. EFFECT: reduced draft of ground to working tool by side undercutting of soil layer from ground massif. 2 cl, 2 dwg
