FIELD: fire-fighting equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves prior to reconstructing mineralized strip laid in the form of parallel furrows with undisturbed soil layer between furrows, wetting combustible materials lying on surface of said layer with water comprising surfactant; extracting ground from one of furrows and placing it into adjacent furrow and simultaneously spilling combustible materials on surface of undisturbed soil layer. As a result, combustible materials wetted by water and protected from drying by spilled ground layer are subjected to intensified biological decomposition and, accordingly, do not serve as source for flameless burning process. Method is used for preventing spreading of forest ground fires by periodic renewal of fire-fighting mineralized strips. EFFECT: increased efficiency and enhanced reliability in operation of reconstructed mineralized strip.
