HAND-HELD SPRINKLER FOR SUPPRESSING PEAT FIRES Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: fire-fighting equipment. SUBSTANCE: hand-held sprinkler has perforated tube 1 with tip 2, hollow handles 3 and 4 and plug-type faucet 5 with shank 6. Handle 3 is enclosed in drum 8 and bushing 9 serving as bearing support of shank 6 is positioned in cavity of handle 3. End of shank 6 is connected to drum 8 through pin 10. During employment of sprinkler operator inserts perforated tube 1 into peat layer and opens faucet 5 by rotating drum 8. Rotational movement is transmitted from drum 8 to shank 7 through pin 10. Fire suppressing composition is supplied through perforations in tube 1 into peat layer to impregnate it. EFFECT: simplified construction and manufacture method and enhanced reliability in operation. 1 dwg
