BIOFILTER FOR AGRICULTURAL AND INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: biofilter has casing with light-transmitting walls and illuminating devices positioned outside casing. Flat transparent spiral with glass fiber bundles on its lower and end surfaces is positioned inside casing on drive shaft. The latter is mounted on flexible support so as to cooperate with vibrator. Mash sprayer and methane discharge branch pipe are positioned in upper part of biofilter casing. Biogas supplying branch pipe and branch pipe communicated with centrifugal microfilter are positioned in lower part of biofilter. Biogas produced in methane tank is supplied by blower into biofilter casing and sprayed with mash by means of mash sprayer. Biofilm of chlorella and bacteria formed on spiral and glass fiber bundles absorbs biogas components under photosynthesis conditions. Apart from methane, practically pure methane is discharged into gas collector to be further utilized as fuel. Biomass is delivered into disintegrator for reprocessing. Biofilter may be used in farms for reprocessing of agricultural wastes and obtaining commercial products. EFFECT: wider operational capabilities and simplified construction. 2 dwg
