FIELD: electrical engineering, hydraulic power engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can find use while designing horizontal hydraulic aggregates. Horizontal hydraulic-turbine generator of capsule type has rotor 1 placed horizontally with thrust disc 2, thrust bearing case 3, thrust members-segments 4 positioned on both sides of thrust disc 2 and uniformly placed over circumference and supporting radial bearings 5. Brake cylinders 6 with friction blocks 7 uniformly spaced over circumference are installed in axial direction in case of thrust bearing 3 on side opposite to acting hydraulic load. Shaped rams 8 of brake hydraulic cylinders 6 have two different diameters. Two ring collectors 13 and 14 communicating with two-position cock 15 and correspondingly with spaces of forward and reverse strokes of rams 8 of brake hydraulic cylinders 6 and electric contact manometers 16 and 17 are mounted on face part of case 3 of thrust bearing. Manometers are connected to unit of contactors 18 switching on and off electric motor 19 setting in motion oil pump 20. Two-position cock 15 is connected via non-return valve to oil pump and to discharge pipe-line 25 linked to discharge space of oil tank 23. EFFECT: prolonged service life of hydraulic aggregates and their radial and axial bearings, their diminished wear-out at time of stoppage of rotor and prevented rotation of rotor due to water leaks in guiding apparatus. 1 cl, 1 dwg
