FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves opening the urinary bladder with transverse cut. The urinary bladder neck with prostate is cut off. Seminal vesicles, pelvic lymph nodes and paraprostatic fat are removed. Flexible Foley catheter is introduced into the urethra. Catgut ligatures are sutured through pelvic diaphragm muscles. Urinary bladder wound is transversely sutured on its right and left to the urethra projection. Ligatures earlier sutured through pelvic diaphragm muscles are resutured through the whole thickness of the urinary bladder. Their ends are stage-by-stage tightened in pulling the inferior edge of the urinary bladder to the pelvic diaphragm. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of retropubic prostatectomy.
