FIELD: jet engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed exhaust system has nozzle housing with front intake hole for accommodating rear end of jet engine and four-angled outlet hole at the rear. Noise suppression chamber is arranged behind outlet hole. This chamber can be opened and it is formed by two closing structures placed opposite to each other. Each structure has large-size surface and it is hinged-connected by shell-like clamp to nozzle housing. Closing structures can be moved from open to closed positions so that when structures are closed, chamber is formed. This chamber has four-angled cross-section and it is arranged behind outlet hole. Each structure is provided with large surface in which large number of small holes are made. Holes are uniformly spaced. About 15% - 25% of square foot (0.0929 square meter) of each large surface is left free and 45-65 holes are made in each square foot (0.0929 square meter) of surface. Holes are small-size and are located close to each other. EFFECT: increased suppression of noise, reduced weight of structure. 8 cl, 2 dwg
