FIELD: detection and ranging of objects and navigation, in particular, by the method of determination of coordinates and motion parameters of the object of detection and ranging. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in radiation of a pulse burst with a preset period by an active monitoring point, reception of the burst pulses reflected from the object of detection and ranging, determination of the distance to the object of detection and ranging according to the measured time lag of the echo signal at its reception relative to the moment of the beginning of burst radiation, and determination of the object radial velocity. At reception of pulse bursts reflected from the object additionally measured is the value of the difference of time lags of two adjacent burst pulses, and the change of the distance to the object is calculated between the moments of contacts of the first pair of the adjacent pulses with the object, the radial velocity of the object in the given section of motion is determined according to these values, then the radial velocity of object motion between the moments of its contact with the last pulse of the first pair of the adjacent pulses and the first pulse of the subsequent pair of the adjacent pulses is determined in the same way, the radial acceleration of object motion is determined according to the difference of the measured radial velocities, after that the allowable parameters of relative motion of the active monitoring point and the object of detection and ranging are estimated, and command signals for changing the number of pulses in the radiated burst are formed. Besides, at estimation of the determined values of distance, velocity and acceleration as undesirable parameters of relative motion of the active monitoring point and the object of detection and ranging command signals are additionally formed for changing the duration and period of the radiated burst, or command signals are formed for control of motion of the object of detection and ranging or the active monitoring point. The device for realization of the method has series-connected master oscillator 1 of pulse bursts, transmitter 3 and radiating antenna 4, series-connected receiving antenna 5, receiver 6, unit 7 for processing of echo signals with a meter of time intervals, and computer 8 for computation of the distance to the object of detection and ranging and its radial velocity, antenna control unit 9 with drive 10 connected to one of the outputs of echo signal processing unit 7 and oscillator 1. Master oscillator 1 of pulse bursts is provided with unit 2 for changing the relative pulse burst duration, and computer 8 is provided with velocity (11) and acceleration (12) indicators, and with control computer unit 13 for estimation of the allowable parameters of relative motion of the object of detection and ranging and the active monitoring point connected to unit 2 for changing the relative pulse burst duration, and antenna control unit 9. Besides, control computer unit 13 for estimation of the allowable parameters of relative motion is provided with additional outputs for connection to unit 2 for changing the relative pulse burst duration and unit 14 for control of relative motion of the object of detection and ranging and the active monitoring point located on a vehicle.
