SUBSTANCE: method includes charging of charge into melting unit, with charge consisting of steel-melting slags and iron carrier; charging of fluxes containing SiO2 and Al2O3 for attaining of required basicity; supply of air and coal; liquid phase melting with molten slag-iron melt volumetric ratio above 0.5:1. CaO/SiO2 slag basicity is set equal to 1.0-1.8 with Al2O3 content in slag equaling 10-25 wt. %. Heat air is blown from atop and coal is supplied in jet of carrier gas.
