FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes smelting in furnace of iron-containing materials supplied to smelting unit together with addition containing calcium carbonate to form melt containing pig iron and slag. Iron-containing materials are used in the form of scrap or partially heated and preliminary reduced iron ore. Smelting is carried out in smelting gas generator with simultaneous production of reducing gas owing to blowing into gas generator of coal and oxygen-containing gas. Additions are used in the form of limestone with content of clay amounting to 10-25% together with partial amount of iron ore; they are, if required, subjected to heating and calcination in heating shaft, and charged into smelting gas generator in the amount ensuring production of slag whose composition corresponds to cement clinker. One part of heated and calcined limestone may be supplied for mixing with liquid slag from smelting gas generator to clinker plant. To burn gas, air is blown together with chlorine-containing wastes, for instance, with polychlorinated biphenyls polluted with dioxines and furans. Slag is cooled in cooler with vortex layer and held at temperature above 1000 C for at least 15, preferably, 20-30 min for formation of cement clinker phases alite and belite. Loaded into gas generator together with coal are shale, refuse, refuse scrap, or steel melting slag or dusts. EFFECT: provision of development of equipment allowing production of pig iron and cement clinker in one unit and safe getting rid of toxic substances.
