FIELD: transport engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed casing has carrying decorative panel made of tight polymer material and provided with supports for detachable threaded parts (studs, bolts, etc. ) for fastening casing to engine frame parts (cylinder head, receiver etc.), and porous noise-absorbing member made of layer of fibrous or foamed material placed inside panel. Casing has at least one gasket made of tight viscoelastic noise-and-vibration damping adhesively mounted on inner surface of carrying decorative panel by means of glue inside projection of polygon ABCD on horizontal plane. Polygon id formed by intersection of vertical planes X-X and Y-Y, V- V and W-W passing through axes of adjacent supports for detachable threaded fasteners. Gasket is installed in zone of maximum amplitudes of vibration excursions of panel zone. Area of gasket is not less than 1-% of area of panel limited part. Ratio of thickness h and hI, respectively, of porous noise-absorbing layer and gasket is ≥ 5 and loss factor of damping gasket material is μ≥0,1. At least one of cantilever parts of panel adjoining corresponding vertical plane, X-X and Y-Y, respectively, can be provided with similar damping gasket at least partially overlapping central zone of corresponding cantilever part or panel. Outer surface of porous noise-absorbing layer can be lined with thin protective film permeable to noise protecting noiseabsorbing member from dust, oil, gasoline fumes, crankcase gases, etc. which might get into its pores (fibers).
