FIELD: cardiosurgery for substitution of injured natural valves of the human heart. SUBSTANCE: the cardiac valve prosthesis has a ring-shaped body and three cusps. The means for holding of each cusp in the body and the means for limiting the angle its turn are made in the form of two pairs of through slots forming two interenveloping structures for turning of the cusp between the opening and closing positions. One pair of slots is made on the opposite flat faces of the lugs positioned on the inner surface of the body, and the other pair of slots is located on opposite parallel sections 8 of the cusp lateral surface. The distance between the bottom surfaces of the first pair of slots exceeds the distance between the bottom surfaces of the second pair of slots by the value of minimum clearance, lesser than the depth of any of the slots. The slots are formed by grooves intersecting at angle α, where α - the angle of cusp opening. Each cusp is provided with additional sections of lateral surface engageable with the end surfaces of the body lugs in the closed position of the cusp. Besides, the cusps may be made convex, with the convexity facing the outgoing direct flow. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and durability of the valve. 2 cl, 4 dwg
