FIELD: electrolytic deposition of solid wear-resistant coatings, particularly, ferromolybdenum coatings applicable in reconditioning and hardening of machine part surfaces. SUBSTANCE: deposition is carried out with alternating asymmetric current with asymmetry coefficient of 1.2-6 from electrolyte containing, g/l: ferrous chloride, 350-400; ammonium molybdate, 0.2-1.2; citric acid, 2-8; hydrochloric acid, 0.5-2. Deposition is conducted at temperature of 20-50 C and cathode current density of 35-40 A/sq.dm. EFFECT: higher microhardness of coatings, their adhesion to base metal and rate of deposition at low temperatures.
