METHOD OF CENTRIFUGAL CLEANING OF GASES AND DEVICE FOR REALIZATION OF THIS METHOD Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2174860 C1

FIELD: cleaning gases from solid particles. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in delivery of gas to be cleaned to inlet branch pipe followed by directing this flow to many cylindrical passages found in rotor; axes of these passages are located in planes passing through axis of rotation of rotor at angle dictated by condition of gradientless flow of gas pertaining to pressure which is stipulated by equality of gas-dynamic friction and component of centrifugal force directed along passage; rate of flow does not exceed velocity found from equality of time of motion of solid particle of gas being cleaned via passages under action of centrifugal force across flow and time of passage of particles lengthwise; dirty and cleaned fractions separated in rotor passages are divided into two flows means of members connected with passages and outlet units of cleaned and dirty fractions of gas. Device proposed for realization of this method is made in form of inlet unit including branch pipe for inlet of gas to be cleaned, guide vanes mounted on, housing and inlet vanes mounted on rotor at constant clearance relative to its end surface on side of lesser diameter; settling surfaces are made in form of cylindrical passages in rotor. Conditions for selecting the angle, diameter and length of passages are described in method. Outlet unit is made in form of separating bushes provided with flats and mounted in passages at gas outlet; passage formed by flats is brought into communication with cavity available in rotor at dirty gas outlet; inner passage of bushes is brought into communication with cleaned gas outlet cavity where vanes are located; rations of lengths of inner passage of bushes and passages formed by flats and their hydraulic diameters are selected on the condition of dampening disturbances arising at escape of dirty and cleaned fractions of gas. Cleaned gas discharge cavity is made in form of narrowing passage whose taper is directed from end of rotor of larger diameter towards axis and radial vanes are located on rotor on side of its larger diameter. Device proposed for realization of this method is provided with adjusting unit made in form of pipe line with damper which is communicated with inlet branch pipe giving access for gas to be cleaned on one side and with cleaned gas outlet branch pipe on other side. Dirty gas discharge unit is made in form of three-cavity volute whose one end cavity is communicated with dirty gas inlet branch pipe and other end cavity is communicated with cleaned gas outlet cavity. Separating bushes are mounted rotatably. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cleaning gas from submicron solid particles. 8 cl, 3 dwg
