FIELD: aluminum production, possibly in plants provided with aluminum cells. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of keeping constant values of interpole spacing and excess (relative to designed demand) alumina charge by equal dozes for time period from anode effect until aluminum discharging and interrupting charging after discharging until next anode effect; setting excess of alumina charge for each cycle of supply according to product of previous excess value by relation of duration values of two previous successive periods from discharging until anode effect; during each period from discharging until anode effect charging AlF3 by the same dozes in quantity equal to its losses during previous cycle. Method provides reduced mean temperature of electrolyte for cycle, lowered specific flowrate of ALF3. EFFECT: increased yield of aluminum according to electric current. 1 dwg
