FIELD: earth-moving machinery; chain units. SUBSTANCE: proposed excavating part has frame with support and rest guides. Frame carries also drive wheel with traction members arranged on periphery and support wheel with hub. Endless chain is stretched over drive and support wheels. Chain is provided with cutters secured on each link of chain by means of sockets. Traction members of drive wheel are made in form of two rollers installed coaxially at both sides of wheel parallel to its axis. Flats are made on cylindrical surface of drive wheel between adjacent pairs of rollers. Chain consists of alternating links with one middle cutter and links with two side cutters. Based of links with two side cutters are U-shaped in bottom part engaging with support and rest guides of frame and walls in form of involute teeth with side surfaces engaging with paired rollers of drive wheel and points engaging with cylindrical surfaces of rest wheel hub. Links with one middle cutters is provided with cross recess in middle part in form of section of cylindrical surface with radius equal to radius of drive wheel, for engagement with cylindrical surface of drive wheel. These links are provided also with flats at base edges for engagement with support and rest guides of frame. EFFECT: improved efficiency and reliability in operation. 5 cl, 6 dwg
