FIELD: electron beam accelerators. SUBSTANCE: method for cooling window foil that provides for exit of scanning-type electron beams from accelerator is characterized in that cooling gases are blown down onto surface being scanned by electron beam on both sides for cooling primary window foil. Cooling gas stream is reversed in center of primary cooling foil and cooling gases are allowed to circulate by sucking them on both sides of surface being scanned by electron beam thereby providing for simultaneous cooling of secondary window foil. Accelerator has primary window foil of twin window and secondary window foil. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cooling both windows of primary window foil without increase in amount of cooling gas. 8 cl, 6 dwg
