FIELD: food-processing industry; production of groats products requiring no cooking. SUBSTANCE: used as raw material for process is waste non-crushed oatmeal-split oats kernel which is cleaned from admixtures, humidified to moisture content of 26-28% and soaked for 30 minutes. Then product is subjected to hydrothermal treatment in batch-operated steamer at steam pressure of 0.21 - 0.25 MPa for 3 to 4 minutes, after which drying is effected on roller drier at temperature of 150 C to moisture content not exceeding 7% at simultaneous crushing and cooling of product. This product has nut scent and taste and crumbly consistency; it is regenerated for 5 minutes in hot water or for 1 minute in microwave oven; it may be used in dry state together with fruit and berries.
