METHOD OF HYDROTHERMAL TREATMENT OF GRAIN Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC B02B1/08 

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a mill industry, namely to hydrothermal processing of grain for milling buckwheat, wheat, rye, barley, oats, corn, rice. Method consists in combining, at one stage, preliminary grain pretreatment operations, such as drying or moistening, steaming and drying the steamed grain. In this case, all three operations are performed when the grain moves in a continuous mode, using a dry steam with the initial temperature of 120–200 °C as a single thermal agent at a pressure of 0.05–0.15 MPa and a low degree of humidity. Treatment is carried out with the vertical movement of the grain through the steaming machine, where in three zones in height there is interaction with the rising flow of dry steam and additional water is supplied to the steaming and pretreatment zones. Treatment is carried out for 20–30 minutes in one apparatus.

EFFECT: method allows to reduce the steam consumption by 30–40 %, and the electric power consumption - by 39 %.
