FIELD: machine-tool industry, applicable in constructions of grinding machines and tooling. SUBSTANCE: the grinding wheel driving mechanism has a flange with grinding wheel installed for rotation on the journal of a hollow spindle. The journal of the hollow cylinder is positioned at angle α = arc sin(B/D) to the axis of rotation of the spindle. The hollow cylinder driving mechanism is made as a wave transmission, having a wave generator installed on the drive shaft, fixed rigid wheel with an internal gearing, and a flexible wheel fixed to the hollow spindle through a splined joint. The drive shaft is coaxially installed in the spindle, and, through a flexible or cardan joint, intermediate shaft and a cover, transmits rotation to the flange with the grinding wheel having a spherical external surface with diameter D and height B. The given construction provides for movement of the grinding wheel axle along the generating line of the cone with the vertex in the center of the wheel. EFFECT: enhanced quality and capacity of working due to the non-recurrence of the trace of abrasive grains. 4 dwg
